With new technologies, many offices and establishments are going paperless already. Among the benefits of becoming a “paperless” business are higher cost productivity (you do not have to maintain fax machines), wider space (your shelf is now inside a small USB drive), real time document updating, and some pro-environment results. During the recently-concluded American Music Awards, organizers decided to hold the event with a “paperless” advocacy replacing script boards with Samsung Galaxy Note 2. You can also go paperless by choosing to receive electronic bills (instead of the traditional bills) and sending memos via email.

Social Media: A Crime-fighting Tool

In the United States, 9 out of 10 police departments are using some form of social media to combat crimes. A study from Lexis Risk Solutions found out that 4 out of 5 use social media to fight crimes. It also learned that 67% believe that social media helps solve crimes more quickly. Police use YouTube to post surveillance videos, and Facebook to post images of “wanted” suspects in hiding. Cops befriend suspects to be able to learn about the location of these suspects. Records have it that a good number of suspects were already caught with the use of social media.
